Basing on the writer’s personal
experience, it is not easy to have a long distance relationship. There are times when you will feel ‘abandoned’; when you
will realize you have no one except for yourself. At night, it is more hurting
to see that there is no one beside you in bed. You also have no partner to
accompany you in restaurants, parks, malls and others. There are instances that
you will also feel sorry for yourself because you do all the tasks at home.
Worst of all, you always ask yourself: How long can I survive this type of
relationship? Is it worth the wait?
If you share the same experiences
and thoughts with me, you are in dire need of long distance relationship
advice. Pick one—or more—that will work for you:
1. Keep the communication always
open.
You should constantly communicate
with your dearest. You have no reason to do so with the advances in technology
today. Gone are the snail mails. You can instantly check on your partner
through instant messaging or by sending an electronic mail or a text message.
You can also talk to him and at the same time see him through video call.
However, it is not necessary that
you talk every day. You can have a schedule for this. Remember, he also has
work to do.
2. Do not stress yourself too much
by thinking of him.
Another long distance relationship
advice that this writer can give you is to avoid thinking of your beau all the
time. Busy yourself with other things. If you are at home, spend your time
cleaning the house, attending to the needs of the children and watching your
favorite programs. From time to time, go out with your friends. Watch movies,
eat out and host a picnic in your own backyard. Remember, you also have a life
of your own.
3. Do not even joke your lover by
asking him if he is cheating on you.
Do not think that he is cheating on
you. It will be more stressful on your part. It can give you sleepless nights.
You do not want to develop insomnia, right? Do not even make a joke of asking
him if he is cheating on you. He will find this ridiculous—especially if it is
not true. Or, you may only give him the idea. Give him your 100 percent trust
so he can give it to you as well. Remember, you are also apart from him and he
is trying to adjust.
4. Do some things together.
Have dinner together through Skype.
Discuss things as if you are not thousand miles apart. Got a Valentine’s Day
gift for him? Show it through that video call. Just give it to him when you see
him. Surely, he will do the same for you. You may not be physically together,
but it is not a reason to stop you both from doing what you used to do.
Some people think that miles-apart
relationship will not work. It is not true. The success of a relationship
depends on the persons involved—not on the number of miles that they are not
together. Take one long distance relationship advice above and
you and your partner will definitely stick to each other—or you may consider
all.
